If you suffer from brain fog, confusion, poor memory, irritability, or even more serious diseases such as cancer, diabetes, osteoporosis or Alzheimer’s disease? All these symptoms and more are associated with a leaky gut syndrome. Doctors and specialists in natural medicine agree that the foundation of our health is in the intestines, and the fight against diseases is the healing of a distressed and unsuccessful intestine
The Bowel Dislocation Syndrome (LGS) is a condition of recovery in the US, and it is often not diagnosed or misdiagnosed. Symptoms of LGS can be uncomfortable and painful. Leaky Gut compromises your digestion and the body’s ability to absorb nutrients.
This occurs when the intestinal membrane of the intestine begins to break down, thus allowing undigested food particles and other things to pass through the walls of the intestine and into the bloodstream.
Some of the things that can now go through include proteins like gluten, bad bacteria and undigested food particles. Toxic waste can also leak from inside your intestinal wall into the blood, causing an immune reaction.
Although there are no medications that treat this condition, there are many natural items that will help to heal the intestinal lining and return it to an intact state, and I’ll cover all of this below.
What causes leaky gut?
There are 4 main causes of the flowing gut:
- Poor nutrition
- Chronic stress
- Overloading with toxins
- Bacterial imbalance
Products to stay away from
The most common foods that can damage your intestinal lining are proteins found in sprouted grains, sugar, GMO and conventional dairy products. The problem with unreduced grains is that they contain a large number of nutritional blockers, called phytates and lectins.
These are sugar-binding proteins that act as a natural protective system for plants and protect them from external invaders such as mold and parasites. The digestive lining is covered with sugar containing cells that help to destroy your food. Lectins tend to this area, and when they attach to your digestive lining, it damages the intestines and causes inflammation.
Lectins are found in many foods, not just in grains, but if you consume them in smaller quantities, your body will be in perfect order. But products that have a large number of lectins, such as wheat, rice, spices and soybeans, are more problematic.
Growing and fermenting grains reduces the amount of phytates and lectins, and also facilitates their digestion, and that is why I am a supporter of sprouted grain grain.
GMOs and hybrid products
These subjects tend to be the highest in lectins, since they have been altered to combat bugs.
Grain that contains gluten damages your intestinal lining, so while you are working to heal your system, stay away from all grains, especially those that contain gluten like wheat. Once your intestines are healthy, add the grains back to your diet, which has been fermented and sprouted. Learn more about gluten HERE
Ordinary milk of a cow
A component of dairy products that harms your intestines is protein A1 casein, as well as a pasteurization process that will destroy vital enzymes, making sugar, such as lactose, very difficult to digest. For this reason, I recommend buying only dairy products that are raw and from: A2 cow, goat, sheep or buffalo. PLEASE READ MY article on cow milk HERE
This is another substance that can damage your digestive system. Sugar will feed the growth of yeast, candida and bad bacteria, which will further damage your intestines. Bad bacteria actually create toxins called exotoxins that damage healthy cells and can eat a hole in your intestinal wall. If you feel that you can not completely give up sugar, replace my healthier sweeteners that you can find HERE.
Other factors of the flowing intestine
Stress weakens the immune system for a long time, which hampers your ability to fight foreign invaders, such as bad bacteria and viruses, which lead to inflammation and swelling of the intestines. To reduce stress, try to sleep more, get fun for your week, have more rest, meditate or exercise and communicate with people with a positive mood.
We are in contact with more than 80,000 chemicals and toxins every year, but the worst offenders for causing a leaking gut include antibiotics, pesticides, tap water, aspirin and NSAIDs. Try buying a high quality water filter to eliminate chlorine and fluoride, and look at natural herbs to reduce inflammation in your body.
Finally, one of the main causes of bowel leakage is a condition called dysbacteriosis, which means an imbalance between beneficial and harmful bacteria in the intestine. For many, this imbalance can begin with birth due to the C-section or because the mother did not have a healthy gut. Excessive use of prescription antibiotics, tap water with chlorine and fluorine, and the lack of probiotic foods contribute to this imbalance of good and bad bacteria.
Signs of an impassable gut
The syndrome of dislocation of the intestine is more common than you think. Autism, rheumatoid arthritis, periodontal disease, chronic fatigue syndrome, Crohn’s disease and colitis occur due to inflammation caused by leaky gut. Malabsorption of nutrients, candidiasis and parasitic infections is associated with this syndrome along with food sensitivity and allergy. Inflammatory conditions of the skin, such as eczema, psoriasis and acne, are indicators that are also permeable. This leads to inflammation in your system and can cause symptoms such as:
- Weight gain
- Problems with digestion
- Nutritional sensitivity
- Thyroid status
- Joint pain
- Skin problems, such as Rosacea & amp; Acne
One of the biggest warning signs that you may have a leaking gut may be that you experience multiple sensitivities to food. When partially digested proteins and fats leak through the intestinal lining, they penetrate into your bloodstream, which causes an allergic reaction.
This allergic response does not mean that you will break into a rash, but this can lead to one of the symptoms mentioned above. And if left untreated can lead to more serious health problems, such as inflammatory bowel disease, IBS, arthritis, eczema, psoriasis, depression, anxiety, migraine headaches, muscle aches and chronic fatigue.
According to the Journal of Diabetes, there is strong evidence pointing to the leaky gut as the primary cause of autoimmune diseases, including type 1 diabetes.
Bowel leak and brain function
One specific question that I want to address with the leaky gut is how it can affect the brain. If you have ever seen a child with autism experience mood swings, this can be caused by intestinal permeability. Gluten and casein without a diet have proven effective for many children with autism, because these proteins can leak through the intestines and affect the brain like an opioid.
When opioid drugs attach to their receptors, they reduce the perception of pain. Opioids can also cause drowsiness, mental confusion, nausea, constipation, and, depending on the amount of the drug taken, can depress the breath. Some people experience a euphoric response to opioid drugs, as these drugs also affect the areas of the brain that participate in the reward.
Examples of opioids are strong pain killers, such as:
This is also the reason that the leaky gut is associated with other psychological disorders, such as anxiety, depression and bipolar disorder. So, in many cases, if you can cure the intestines, you can heal the brain.
Tips for curing the leaking gut
Here’s the good news, a damaged bowel responds well to certain foods, herbs and supplements, a clean diet and a healthy lifestyle choice. Below are some of the best recommendations.
A clean diet is crucial for restoring the intestines. By reducing or eliminating completely white sugar, gluten, processed foods, dairy products (especially cow’s milk, Greek yogurt and kefir, are really useful because of their probiotic activity), refined carbohydrates, alcohol and caffeine and eat a lot of high fiber fiber, Nutrients are dense, whole foods.
Since pesticides and GMOs counteract situations, they consume mainly organic products. Essential fatty acids from fish, flax or chia are also vital for healing the bowels and reducing inflammation. Drinking a lot of purified water is crucial, as well as to avoid gut-destroying impurities.
Probiotics are my number one fight against the Gut watering can because of their proven health benefits in the intestines. Since the main factor contributing to LGS is inflammation in the intestine, a decrease in the amount of Candida albicans that may be present in the intestine can significantly change the healing.
Candida is a fungus that attaches to the lining of the intestine, causing inflammation, irritation and damage to the intestinal mucosa. Probiotics are useful bacteria that help kill bad mushrooms. When taking a probiotic, be sure to find a brand with a good reputation, chilled and with beneficial bacteria, numbering over ten million (per serving). Some probiotics come in doses of up to eighty organisms per serving. Consistency is key to probiotics, and regularly taking them for a long period of time will provide the greatest benefit to your body.
Raw dairy products
These items contain both probiotics and SCFA, which can help cure the intestines. Aged yogurt, Greek yogurt, butter and cheeses are some of the best.
These products contain organic acids that balance the pH of the intestines and probiotics to maintain the intestines. Sour cabbage, Kimchi and Kvass are excellent sources.
All coconut products are especially good for your gut. MCFA in coconut is easier to digest than other fats, so it’s better for a leaking gut. In addition, coconut kefir contains probiotics that support your digestive system.
Often, those who suffer from a leaky gut syndrome have a low acidity of the stomach. This creates poor digestion, causing leaching of toxins into the body. Digestive enzyme supplements are useful together with lemon or raw apple acetic water.
Fiber protects the intestine by sweeping away fungi, harmful bacteria and other pathogens quickly from the system. Good options include organic plantain powder, ground flax and chia seeds.
Chia seeds, flaxseed and cannabis seeds that have been germinated are excellent sources of fiber that can promote the growth of beneficial bacteria. But if you have a heavy leaky gut, you may need to start getting fiber from steamed vegetables and fruits.
In addition, consuming foods that have anti-inflammatory fats of Omega-3 are useful, such as grass fed beef, lamb, and wild caught fish, like salmon.
It is known that some herbs soothe the inflammation and damage that occurs in the intestine. Two BESTchoices – Marshmallow Root with Slippery Crochet, as they soothe and cover the intestinal tract, minimizing the absorption of toxins. Other herbs to help heal lesions further, reducing excessive permeability:
- Licorice root
- Sheep sorrel
- Fennel seeds
- Ginger root
To eliminate parasites (which often accompany a suppressed digestive system):
- Black walnut
- Caprylic acid
- Grapefruit seed extract
It has been shown that this amino acid restores damaged tissue in the intestinal casing, and also helps restore growth and tissue regeneration in the intestine. L glutamine also strengthens the immune system, preventing the spread of bacteria, viral and fungal infections in the body. This can be critical in treating the healing of the intestinal shell, since pathogens, such as candidiasis and parasites, can damage the intestinal lining.
Since the leaky gut syndrome contributes to the impairment of absorption of many nutrients, it is important to supplement the diet. Important vitamins A, B, C and E, as well as calcium, iron, magnesium, zinc, selenium and coenzyme Q10. Colostrum helps to heal the intestinal lining and reduces inflammation. To restore the integrity of the intestinal wall, L-glutamine is exceptional. And do not forget the daily, high-quality probiotic.
Maintaining a balanced lifestyle is valuable for promoting a healthy digestive system. Minimizing stress, gentle work, adequate sleep and slowing down while eating support this healing process.
The roots of our health are a well-functioning gut with healthy intestinal flora. And just as a tree with diseased roots will not flourish, the rest of the body will not be able to thrive without a well functioning digestive system.
