What is Ayurveda fever?

According to Ayurveda legend, Lord Shiva, in his angry form, like Rudra, gave birth to a fever after a long period of meditation. His focus was troubled by demons, and in desperation he opened his third eye and burned them with a laser beam. This indicates the role of fever in burning pathogens and other bodily loads.

From the point of view of Ayurveda, there are many different types of fever, depending on the involvement of the dosha and the causative factors. However, if your child has not been subjected to some very extreme conditions (for example, sunstroke, strong and variable wind), you can assume that the fever indicates an excess of kapha dosha. In other words, their body produced fever in response to digestive fire, weakened by excessive stickiness and heaviness (or pathogens that live in excess of stickiness). This is a small issue for children, because on their kafha-stage of life they tend to stickiness and abundance in abundance. Like Rudra, their fever is formed as the innate wisdom of their digestive fire, agni, and spreads throughout the body to digest this substance, eclipsing the work (we call it “ama”).

There are some things that we can do to support and restore agni, as it works to burn the excess. However, as always, we must remember that in Ayurveda there are no universal recommendations. Trust your observations. Do not be afraid to try something. Give him time, but if it does not work, use a different approach. Stages of fever

In the initial stages of fever, the tightened blood vessels near the surface of the skin retain heat in the body and allow fever to rise. At this stage, the skin can be felt sticky and cold – pre-febrile “chills”. This period is characterized by nausea or lack of interest in food. Ginger tea or ½ teaspoon. From honey with a fat pinch, each of ginger and black pepper (and peppali, or “long pepper”, if you have it) can help the body, by slightly raising the agni, and cleansing accumulated accumulations from the canals. In addition to strengthening the ability of the agni to digest, dry ginger and pippa have a special quality that allows them to digest themselves.

At the second stage, the thirst increases, and the heat flows to the surface of the skin. The extremities are felt by touch, and the frequency of heartbeats and breathing increases. Make sure that your little patient is dehydrated and do not expose your body to cold air or water. At this stage, the fever digests the amu (and / or pathogens) in the body. Probability and fatigue are likely to continue at this stage. Keep the room calm, quiet and low light levels. Offering warm tea can also be beneficial at this point. At this point, avoiding food allows the agni to concentrate on the task. However, drinking a homemade chicken broth or a liquid portion of rice soup can be helpful. Studies have shown that components in chicken broth (such as amino acid cysteine) help to destroy and evacuate secretions and have anti-inflammatory properties. In addition, when preparing in the form of bone broth, chicken broth has a wide variety of minerals.

If you decide to make rice soup, just cook 1/8 c. Rice in 1-2 c. Water until the rice becomes soft. Strain the liquid and add salt to taste. Adding small amounts of ginger or pepper can be useful for enhancing agni, but be careful if surface heat or pressure (headache can indicate high blood pressure) seems high. Add a little turmeric for your anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, agni-enhancing properties. Rice soup or “decoction” is very easily digested and will help maintain the balance of electrolytes. As hunger begins to return, most of the rice can be left in the soup.

At the third stage of the process, the fever “breaks down.” The origin of sweating (and often urination) and, as a rule, some relief of pain in the joints, as well as an increase in appetite indicate the arrival of this stage. Rice soup, lightly flavored or chicken broth without excess fat, will continue to support the body process.

After the fever has passed and the appetite returns, slowly resume normal eating, avoiding meat (except bone bouillons) and dairy products for a few more days. If kiddo eats it, congee or kitchari is a perfect meal for this recovery period.

Some useful herbal remedies

Giving your child herbal remedies, exercise caution. Everyone has a different level of sensitivity to herbs, and sometimes the immune system just needs a little lift to get back on track. For adults, the normal dose of herbs in a hot infusion (tea) is about 1 g. Dry (cut and sifted) herbs, poured into 500 ml of hot water. This makes 2-4 doses that you can drink during the day.

For young children under 5, I propose to insist ½ ounce. Herbs in 500 ml of water. Then take 2 tea L. Received tea and mix it into a small cup of warm water. Observe the results.
