High cholesterol? Try to avoid these 10 products!

Once we get older, it is very important to control the foods and drinks that we consume, as an unhealthy diet can lead to many serious health problems, including high cholesterol and heart diseases. Our bodies need cholesterol to produce hormones, vitamin D and substances for digesting food. Some of the foods that we consume add cholesterol levels that can lead to health problems.

If the cholesterol level is high, you should be careful about these foods and try to avoid them:

  • Macaroni and cheese are butter, milk and cheese with a high content of saturated fats and cholesterol.
  • French fries – they contain a lot of cholesterol, because they contain hydrogenated vegetable oils. Such oils become more stable and less prone to porting. It converts oil into a solid, which simplifies its transportation. Oils can withstand reheating without destroying, and this makes them ideal for frying fast food.
  • Red meat – beef, lamb and pork contain more cholesterol and saturated fats than other dishes, which increases cholesterol levels and further exacerbates heart disease.
  • Margarine – it was once considered a healthy alternative to butter, but margarine only adds cholesterol. According to the study, some forms of margarine, especially hard stick forms, are worse for the heart than oil, because they contain a large amount of trans fats from partially hydrogenated oils.

  • Egg yolk – they have high cholesterol. People with cholesterol and heart disease are advised not to consume them, but it’s okay if a healthy person consumes 4 egg yolks per week, as this will not increase cholesterol and heart disease.
  • Hamburgers – it’s loaded with lots of things like bacon, cheese, onions, and more. You need to think again before you go to McDonald’s. One Big Mac contains 85 mg of cholesterol, and Classic Double 175 mg.
